Air Fills - What is considered fair? and where?

Having just had my twin 8.5's filled at Baltic Dive centre, and suddenly felt like Oli had put a rubber glove on, shoved it up my a'rse and ripped my wallet out through my throat, i suddenly find myself asking, "where does everyone else go for an air fill? and what is a reasonable price to pay?"

At Baltic Dive centre i paid:

3.5e x 2 = 7e for Air
+
1e x 2 = 2e for "Clean" air (which is total b'llocks, but hey...)

Total = 9e for a fill.

This is about 3 times more than i am used to paying, so im feeling VERY aggrieved at the moment.

Ohh and prices for nitrox also much gratefully recieved.

Neil, that is a very good question. Have not been filling in shops for two years or so - so I dont know.

But I think a 200bar fill of a mono 15 was about 5EUR at my local dealer when I used to go there...

I´m wondering the same... don´t need that much air at the moment to justify a personal compressor....

3,50€ for a single tank ist (almost ) ok...not cheap but normal for professionals i think!

But,......"1e x 2 = 2e for "Clean" air ..." what does that mean? filled with a personal filter?

Das mit der Clean Air verstehe ich auch nicht ganz...
Wenn ich bei Oli mit Filter füllen lasse, kostet das nichts extra

Preislich finde ich BDC, zumindest im Hinblick auf die Flaschenfüllungen sehr günstig; ich habe bisher keinen Shop gefunden, wo man weniger oder auch nur das gleiche bezahlt.
Und, es wird nicht bei (warm) 200 bar gestoppt, sondern die Flaschen werden immer bis auf etwa 220 bar gedrückt, sodass man im kalten Wasser nachher auch echte 200 bar hat und nicht wie bei anderen Shops 180 - 190 bar.

Das einzige Manko: Will man nur mal eben 50 bar haben (weil 150 in der Buddel) bezahlt man das gleiche, als wenn man eine komplette Füllung nimmt (wobei, manchmal bezahlt man gar nichts, weil sie dann sagen "komm passt schon, ist ja nur ein bissl was drauf"...)

Also, was Flaschenfüllen angeht bekommt das BDC 4 von 5 Sternen von mir.

Alas, for me, being used to good service, reasonable prices, and a friendly dive shop environment, BDC gets a 2 out of 5.

All trust for me with BDC has gone, (due to other things that have happened with them as well).

Neil, how much of your equipment has arrived in between?

I think some of the problems might result from the rent euqipment as I have never heard of any problems with the BDC in between. But all of the guys dive their own equipments.

The pricing seems to be quite usual for me.

so it was you at the BDS yesterday. I just came in when you were leaving.
I usualy get my air at ,,tauchzentum am exer''[1]. They do 200bar and 300 bar.

It is also possible to fill your tanks by your self outside if the shop is closed.
I pay less money than at the bdc.

And mybe ostseedivers[1] at Rumohr is also cheep.

I fill my tanks with my own compressor clean and more comfortable ((((c:
But I think the prices at BDC are normal for this area.
Denmark is more expensive as well the south of Germany.
Just to compare, the prices from a shop in Flensburg
up to 10 ltr. Tanks 3,20 €
up to 11 ltr. Tanks 3,50 €
up to 12 ltr. Tanks 3,80 €
up to 15 ltr. Tanks 4,60 €

So gerne ich im Exer bin, die Preise für die 12er sind schon höher als beim BDC; es sei denn man hat da ne Füllkarte.
Dafür bin ich aber zu selten zum Füllen da.

Ich habe auch den Chip für die Aussenfüllanlage; den ganz großen Vorteil sehe ich darin, dass man eben wirklich nur das bezahlt, was man reinfüllt; wenn ich also die besagten 50 Bar aufdrücke, zahle ich auch nur für 50 Bar.
Allerdings rechnet sich die Füllanlage nicht, wenn die Buddel "leer" ist, dann wirds wieder teurer.

Wobei man auch mal sagen muß, dass das ein Jammern auf sehr hohem Niveau ist: wir reden hier über 10 - 30 Cent; bei den Preisen die unsere Ausrüstungen kosten, ist das ja schon nebensächlich.

Das wäre ja wie Ferrari-Fahren und sich über 2 Cent Spritpreissteigerung beschweren

Was den Service und die Hilfsbereitschaft angeht, mag ich beide; BDC ist eben nur Tek-lastiger und hat dadurch die gehobenere sprich teurere Ausrüstung im Verkauf.
