Thinking of joining a VDST club in order to gain access to a swimming pool...

Which clubs around Kiel can people reccomend? what is the cost of membership for said clubs? and what does membership of those clubs give you??

Gives you swimming pools an diving insurance and regular BBQs near the pools. At least the one I have been in.

I would recommend one of the two big VDST clubs in Kiel.
I know more people from TUK, but also from the DUC.

Thanks, i already have the insurance from BSAC... i just really need the pool access, as im getting seriously unfit at the moment... and seems the only way to get pool access in kiel is to belong to a sports club of some kind....

Pool access for what?
For training in Scuba equipment? Why don't you use our nice Baltic Sea?
For fitness/swim training can't you access public pools as a swimmer ?

Most pools do not allow finswimming during public opening hours. Therefore a club is recommended. Still, Baltic Dive Center organizes pool sessions on sundays, but these are sometimes crowded with beginner lessons and tec-training.
i'd recommend the TUK or Tauchgruppe Kiel, or DUC Kiel as well. Shared a big part of my instructor training with some of their instructors.

An insurance specialty is a full family coverage for accidents an health issues abroad, for the duration of ca. 2 months.

Adjacent clubs to Kiel are in Preetz, Eckernförde, Schleswig, Neumünster.

Yep, am checking out TUC on Tuesday.

The pool is sometimes needed for just either "tweaking" things, or like other people said, for fin training. I used ot play a lot of underwater hockey, and that used to keep me fit, but, im getting chubby, and hence i need pool access

And another suggestion:

TC Alpha. A very small club. Nothing more than pool training on wendsdays (Unischwimmhalle) and a beer after it, but also very cheep to be a member. But until approx. October 24 we are diving the baltic sea.
